Cake Sugar Designs is founded and run by Janine Martin who grew up outside Chicago Illinois.  Having a background in the medical field, Janine has worked for various companies dealing with everything from insurance to health care.  Now a stay at home mom, in August 2010 Janine found herself looking for a cute birthday party theme for her sons 1st birthday. Not finding anything that was unique and affordable from the local bakeries or grocery store, Janine was inspired to create a simple way for others to enjoy their own personal touch to any occasion.  It was time to go solo and it was clear to her what her new venture would be.  Her business had to be fresh and it had to be fun a return to simpler times.  There was no question, it had to be Cake Sugar Designs.
